It is very important that children go to the doctor for regular check-ups. Early development of a child’s life must be closely monitored in order to identify any defects or health problems they may have. However, going to the doctor over and over can become quite costly, which is why all parents should obtain children’s health insurance.
Health care is a major issue being debated in Congress and on the news daily. The question of health care for adults is still open to much debate, but almost everyone agrees that children should have at least some form of basic coverage. Until health reform is completely passed, protect a child’s early life by obtaining some form of health coverage.
Health insurance has come in many forms from the government over the years. Medicaid was a government sponsored program that allowed poorer families to get a child help when they became sick. However, this program did little for routine check-ups and for preventative measures in fighting disease. However thanks to President Obama, a new law now protects more children than ever.
The law that President Obama signed into existence is called the Childrens Health Insurance Reauthorization Act of 2009. This extended a new type of policy to over four millions kids and pregnant women who live in poverty. Information and programs are now much more available to people from all walks of life allowing better coverage for the less fortunate.
Grown-ups can debate over the question of national health care until their faces turn blue, but all decent human beings can agree that health insurance should be available to all kids, if for no other reason than they are dependent on their parents. As an adult, we can make our own decision. Children do not have that option and need to be protected and ensured of proper care.
